5 Growth books I'm immediately purchasing
Get them while they're hot!
Hi there,
I moved house recently and was sad that we didn’t have any built in bookshelves anymore. My partner decided rather than buy some shelves he would build shelves himself (I know, I’m very lucky).
Well, that one-week project turned into three, but we’re finally there. We have a gorgeous set of five bookshelves… only for him to get annoyed that we didn’t have as many books as I claimed we did.
Now you don’t have to tell me that twice. I will happily buy more books, fiction and non-fiction.
I went off to research some new books, and these are my next five reads:
1. Building a StoryBrand 2.0
I heard so many great things about the first version of this book that when I saw there was a second version, I not only felt better about not reading the first one but also felt extra motivated to read it.
Clarifying your message is crucial, so I’m curious to hear Donald Miller’s advice on Building a StoryBrand 2.0.
2. Oversubscribed
I mentioned this in a newsletter the other day, as I kept seeing it everywhere. With more and more of the brands I’m working with being subscription-based (both e-commerce and apps), understanding what gets brands Oversubscribed is key:
3. She Made It
I’m a female founder and I love to work with female founders, so when I found a book all about finding your feet and finding success as a female founder by Angelica Malin I knew I had to read it.
4. Radical Focus
Most people have heard of radical candor, but radical focus? With this being a challenge, I see most startups struggle with anything extra I can learn on helping them focus is a big win. Curious to check out this book by Christina Wodtke.
5. Venture Deals
Now I’m usually not involved in the financing side of a startup, but I am always thinking of the investor perspective in how we approach growth, as it has an impact.
For me, the lawyer parts will be less relevant, but I’m curious about the whole section on the relationship between investor and entrepreneur to see how I can better support founders. Here’s the link.
No recommendation section for this week as the newsletter is one as a whole!
Any other books I must get on my bookshelf? Definitely let me know. Marty probably thought he was saving money building the bookshelves… Oops.
Till next week,
Daphne

Love this list, Daphne! Radical Focus has been on my radar too. Always up for adding another book to the stack, so thanks for sharing!
