Do product quizzes still work in 2025?
3 ways AI is improving quizzes
Hi there,
I love a good product quiz—who doesn’t? But while they can drive conversion, email capture, and even a higher Lifetime Value, I’ve seen plenty flop, too.
Why are some the key to a brand’s growth, and others just serve to frustrate potential customers?
I decided to find out in a blog post for Convert.
When do quizzes actually work? And how can AI help you build one that feels personal and actually boosts performance?
Here are 3 things that stood out.
1. Quizzes need to solve a real anxiety
The best-performing quizzes aren’t just fun; they reduce friction. For example, questions like “Which shade is right for me?” or “Will this actually work for my skin?” help ease common concerns when finding the right foundation shade.
AI can assist brands in asking smarter, more targeted questions and tailoring the experience to address these specific blockers.
2. Personalization is non-negotiable now
Generic results won’t cut it in 2025. If your product recommendations and descriptions don’t reflect the customer’s answers, it breaks trust.
AI-driven quizzes make it easier than ever to create dynamic flows that adapt to each user.
3. You have to test and optimize
Just adding a quiz doesn’t guarantee results. You’ll want to test quiz placement, completion rates, and whether it improves the overall conversion rate, not just quiz conversion. Tools like Convert are perfect for this.
In my latest article, I share a six-step process, featuring an example from Jones Road, on how to build a high-converting quiz and leverage AI to make it even more effective.

If your quiz doesn’t work perfectly at first, that’s completely normal; this article is a goldmine for improving it. It walks through smart ways to validate changes using qualitative insights, prioritization frameworks, and iterative testing.
I’ve run plenty of user tests when optimizing quizzes, and these strategies really do make a difference.
